Pina Coladas
🌷❤️🌷
Rather than doing a traditional review around this story, let me ask you folks a question: If you were in a relationship, and your partner reveals that he has a kid from a previous association, would that affect your love for him? And if yes, why?
Pina Coladas is a very evocative short story, taking into account basic human emotions like desire and easy breezy summer love, and mixing them with emotions that are much deeper, much more profound and lasting and bittersweet. To me, a mother is a mother the moment she looks at a kid and feels the tug of belonging. I know no other definition, and neither would I want to.
You will read about the bond between a little boy being put to sleep by his father's partner, the love story of how they met, the sad moments that followed, and the love that remained.
It's a lovely piece of work, at once summery with a hint of monsoon. Then again, what is life if not this?
